|Position Summary||The Anderson Schoolof Management (ASM) is seeking an experienced, student-centered academicadvisor to fill the position of Senior Academic Advisor for the Bachelor ofBusiness Administration (BBA) program. |
The position of Sr. Academic Advisor is essential to support the advisementneeds of undergraduate students that further promote goals of ASM and UNM toprovide high quality services that positively impact the retention, graduation,and overall success of undergraduate students. This position works withpre-business and BBA students from orientation to graduation and ensuresstudents are optimizing their academic success and preparation for theirprofession. The undergraduate advisement team at Anderson applies acomprehensive scope to student advisement with practices and policies designedto best meet the needs of students. In individual appointments, workshops, andemail communications, the undergraduate academic advisor provides necessarysupport for time sensitive and in-depth approaches to the diverse needs ofstudents, faculty, and staff at ASM. In addition, this position criticallyevaluates and implements improvements in programming, policies, and proceduresthat positively impact the experiences and outcomes for students. Theresponsibilities of this position are multifaceted and have significantimplications for the advisement services of students at ASM.
This individual will be responsible for providing academic advisement, guidanceand progress tracking for meeting program mileposts for incoming and continuingstudents. They will assist in recruiting activities to attract new students andcoordinate outreach and orientation. They will also provide support in thedevelopment, implementation and marketing of programs and should be comfortablemaking public presentations.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of producinghigh-quality results, successfully maintaining progress across multipleprojects and deadlines, working efficiently with minimal supervision, andadapting to changing priorities. Thisperson will be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing as evidencedby the applicant’s cover letter and resume. This dynamic individual will demonstrate excellence in customer serviceand the ability to work with teams as well as a variety of students, faculty,staff and members of the business community in order to promote student successand align with the vision and mission of ASM and UNM.

Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
