Position Summary

Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) is excited to announce we are hiring. As an employee of this highly energetic and student-oriented center you will coordinate and implement accommodations to allow students full participation in classes offered by the University. The Accommodations Coordinator provides direct support to individuals with disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

  • Prepares and organizes alternative text materials forstudents with a print disability, utilizing Word, Adobe, Braille and OCR software.
  • Communicate with faculty, staff, and other departments toensure we have the inaccessible materials in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates the placement of accessible furniture in theclassrooms.
  • Facilitates note taking services.
  • Assists testing with scheduling and the administering ofexams/quizzes.
  • Provides general administrative assistance, includinganswering phone inquiries and assistance to walk-in students.
  • Supervises and trains student employees.
  • Ensures confidentiality of all accommodation relatedinformation; maintains security of materials and other documentation relatingto accommodations.
  • Responsible for tracking data specific to each accommodationby semester and academic year including assessment of accommodations to ensureconsistency and quality of services for each student.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
- Ability to complete moderately complex administrative paperwork.
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
