Position Summary | The Institute for Social Research (ISR) is a provider of program evaluation and policy research in New Mexico. The Institute consists of three centers: CARA - Center for Applied Research and Analysis, NMSC - New Mexico Sentencing Commission and SAC - New Mexico Center for Statistical Analysis. Additionally, ISR works collaboratively with a number of affiliates in a variety of capacities. ISR is seeking an accountant that enjoys working with a variety of people and projects, is flexible, curious and willing to learn. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented while able to see the big picture. This position will reconcile budgets, revenues and expenses for various departmental indices. In Banner, responsible for adjustments to reconciled indices including payroll and journal entries as required. Responsible for PCard management and reconciliation. Responsible for purchasing for centers as assigned. Responsible for labor distribution and timesheet entry for all centers. Responsible for entries in the State of New Mexico Share system including Purchase Orders, Vouchers (accounts payable) and Operating Transfers. Participate in the Independent Financial and Compliance Audit required of all state agencies. Assist with preparation of financial statements. Assist with planning and payments associated with NMSC committee meetings. Assist with UNM Jobs entries. Assist with Crime Reduction Grants Act administration. Additional responsibilities as assigned. |

Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 9 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; no previous experience required. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
