Position Summary | The Department of Pediatrics is recruiting for a full time Accountant 1. Pediatrics is a large fast-paced clinical department consisting of 18 divisions. The Accountant 1 position will be the primary accountant to some of these divisions. This individual will be required to maintain the fiscal operations of their divisions including unrestricted revenue and expense budget creation, analysis and preparation of projections, management reporting, reconciliation and monitoring of accounts, variance analysis, and salary analysis. The Accountant I will create and/or approve various accounting transactions such as journal entries, labor distributions and purchasing transactions. Knowledge and ability to facilitate adherence to UNM policies and procedures is critical. Excellent communication and collaboration skills and a team-oriented attitude are required to partner with the Pediatrics Accounting Team, Division Chiefs, Administration, and other department/UNM faculty and staff regarding finance policies and procedures or funding requirements. The ideal candidate is a motivated, self-starter with an accounting background. |

Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 9 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; no previous experience required. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
