Position Summary |
Join the dynamic College of Arts & Sciences, overseeing 24 academic departments with a budget exceeding $100M. We seek a motivated, self-directed Accountant 2 to join our A&S Finance Team, providing essential fiscal support to our academic and research missions. Responsibilities include: · Conducting detailed analysis of department budgets and financial operations · Assisting units with fiscal services such as transaction processing, budgeting, reconciliations, and salary distributions · Supporting Principal Investigators (PIs) with monitoring restricted awards · Providing training and backup services to fiscal staff as needed Key Duties: · Assisting in the annual budget process, categorization of reserves, projections, and other university-wide projects · Completing reconciliations to ensure budgetary control · Processing financial transactions such as labor redistributions, journal vouchers, and billings · Handling reimbursements, purchasing requisitions, and other fiscal transactions · Assisting with special projects and reporting as needed · Training and collaborating with departments to build budgets and develop financial reports

Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 12 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
Preferred Qualifications | · Experience with Banner, Chrome River, LoboMart, and MyReports systems; or other institutional finance systems · Proficiency in Excel · Experience with account reconciliations · Experience reviewing and processing Journal Vouchers · Experience managing restricted funds (contracts and grants), ensuring compliance with regulations and supporting PI's · Knowledge of University fiscal policies and procedures · Experience working with multiple units in the development of budgets and/or individually specific projects · Ability to work independently and as a team member |
