Position Summary | The Center for High Technology Materials (CHTM) at the University of New Mexico (UNM) invites applications for a team player to fill an Accountant 2 vacancy. CHTM is an internationally recognized center of excellence managing ~$6M in federal awards per year, in addition to ~$2M in unrestricted funds for center and clean-room support. Join the team that supports exciting research that will shape our future defense, energy, technological, and information capabilities on a national scale while giving you a reasonably predictable schedule, a defined benefit retirement plan, and a generous paid time off package. This is a developmental position that recruits at Grade 12 with promotion potential to Grade 13. On-the-job, informal, and formal training for grant management-related tasks will be provided for developmental purposes. Performs advanced, multifaceted accounting and related functions in such areas as ledger maintenance and analysis, cost and/or financial analysis, fund reconciliation, posting, and inventory control. Analyzes complex financial and operating data and prepares management reports, financial statements, and projections. Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 12 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
