Position Summary

The Office of Finance, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking to hire two Accountant 3's in the the Department of Internal Medicine. Internal Medicine is one of the largest departments within theUniversity of New Mexico School of Medicine, representing an annual unrestrictedbudget of $55M. The Department iscomprised of 13 clinical Divisions, 3 research focused divisions, 4 offices andover 350 faculty and staff. Thesuccessful candidate will use their strong Excel skills working with theAccounting Supervisor to build budgets, develop financial statements and createanalyses. Attention to detail and strongfundamental accounting skills are a must. The qualified candidates will beresponsible for managing unrestricted funds to include completing and enteringbudgets, monitoring and monthly reconciliation of indexes, preparing andupdating monthly financial statements and projection reports. As well as processing financial transactionssuch as labor redistribution, journal vouchers and requisitions.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 15 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • General Ledger/Banner Experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, most specifically with Excel
  • FinancialReporting and variance analysis
  • Abilityto Think Analytically and Critically and problem solve
