Position Summary

The Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC) is seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented, problem-solving Accountant 3 to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will monitor the integrated accounting activities for the CTSC. Perform advanced accounting functions in relation to the CTSC and associated business components. Prepare financial and statistical reports, projections, and recommendations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices and other accounting documents for the Clinical and Translational Science Center and associated business components.

  1. Construct routine spreadsheets for projection purposes, prepares financial data for input into finance systems, and generates monthly reconciliations.

  1. Review and report financial transactions to management and appropriate funding sources.

  1. Prepare, revise and analyze budgets, including budget projections.

  1. Prepares and processes journal vouchers (JVs) and payroll (PHAREDS, EPAF labor distributions) entries.

  1. Prepare, revise and present budgetary reports to management in relation to the CTSC. Make recommendations for asset utilization and expenditure control.

  1. Monitor and maintain key accounting information in internal databases.

  1. Complete the mid-year and annual activities necessary for budgeting purposes including: budget and salary planner and quarterly reviews.

  1. Monitor the use of funds from CTSC accounts to ensure that they are in compliance with grant requirements.

  1. Assist in the preparation and submission of grant(s), as necessary, including creation of budget.

  1. Assist leadership with mid-year and year-end audits, as appropriate.

  1. Other duties as assigned.

TERM APPOINTMENT; FUNDING AVAILABLE THROUGH 05/31/2024; CONTINUANCE BEYOND THAT DATE SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF ADDITIONAL FUNDING.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 15 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred QualificationsProven ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and/or projections.
Demonstrated experience with monitoring grant budgets.
Experience with grant submissions.
Demonstrated experience analyzing, developing and monitoring budgets.
Strong, advanced MS Excel and MS Access skills.
Ability to communicate financial information to all levels across the organization.
Knowledge and experience using Banner.
Attention to detail is a must.
