Position Summary | The Department of Pediatrics at the University of New Mexico (UNM) School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations, ensure sound accounting compliance and processes, and support strategic financial decision-making across our academic, research, and clinical functions. This role plays a key part in optimizing the department’s financial performance through budgeting and financial reporting, clinical productivity analysis, and clinical revenue cycle management. As one of the largest departments in the School of Medicine, Pediatrics operates with a $79 million annual budget across multiple funding sources, including unrestricted and restricted funds. The department consists of 18 divisions and employs over 500 faculty and staff, dedicated to excellence in education, research, and patient care. Position Overview The Accounting Manager leads two critical financial teams-Accounting/Budgeting and Clinical Practice Management -ensuring strong financial procedures and tools for monitoring and analyzing data, development and implementation of processes, and compliance with institutional policies or funding agency requirements. This position interfaces with senior administration, faculty, staff, institutional business partners and external agencies to drive financial success and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor's degree successful completion of at least 15 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
