Position SummaryNew Mexico PBS at the University of New Mexico seeks candidates for a self-motivated Fiscal Assistant with strong organizational and customer service skills for its Finance and Administration Department. Prepares routine entries and posts financial transactions, purchasing, travel, personnel and related documents. Position will answer telephones, open/log mail, meet and greet visitors and assist in other clerical functions. May arrange travel, meeting and handle cash and cash related transactions (issue receipts, prepare money lists and deposits). Processes payroll time sheets and employment documents. Assists in inventory control procedures.

  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications are as follows:

1. Previous experience in a customer service environment

2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

3. Professional attention to detail
