Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics is recruiting for a full time Admin Assistant 1 to join a dynamic team. The first responsibility of this position is to be the first point of contact at the department front desk, greeting visitors, answering multi-line phones, maintaining calendars and other general office duties. This position will also assist the Administrative and Human Resource area with different projects and administrative tasks.

Preference will be given to candidates who are Bilingual and have experience working in a medical/clinical setting.

  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with operating a multi-line phone
  • Experience as the first point of contact and source of information
  • Experience with UNM Policies and Procedures
  • Experience with MS Word and Excel
  • Experience working in a professional medical office environment
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
