Position SummaryUNM-Valenciais seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant 2 who will work in the NursingDepartment. The individual will provide administrative support and is the mainpoint of contact for the department. This person will be responsible forrelaying and resolving routine telephone and/or walk-up inquiries, studentquestions, and providing instructor assistance as needed, relating to theprogram. This position requires ability to communicate effectively, bothwritten and verbally, with faculty, students and staff.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in ruralValencia County, The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-yearbranch campus of The University of New Mexico which functions as a communitycollege in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academictransfer programs, technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit coursesto high schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties.  The faculty and staffserve a student body of approximately 2,000 students per semester.

  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Associate degree or higher in business related program
  • Demonstrated experience at a community college or university
  • Demonstrated experience in an associate or bachelor degree nursing program
