Position Summary

TheUniversity of New Mexico-Valencia is seeking applicants for the position ofAdministrative Assistant 2. Thisposition coordinates and performs a range of staff and/or operational supportactivities for UNM-Valencia’s Police Department, including customer serviceinquiries, internal and external communication, cataloging documents, as wellas tasks related to the Clery Act.

TheAdministrative Assistant 2 oversees inventory control, processes recordsrequests, assists in maintaining calendars/schedules in concurrence withcommunity events, and assists in monitoring campus safety and securitytechnologies.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in ruralValencia County, the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-yearbranch campus of the University of New Mexico which functions as a communitycollege in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With anemphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transferprograms, career and technical programs, Adult Basic Education, and Dual CreditHigh School/College courses to Valencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty andstaff serve a student body of over 2,000 students per semester.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with police communications and public safety protocols
  • Experience with security cameras and access control
  • Knowledge of the Clery Act and its' reporting requirements
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
