Position Summary

The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

The CDD Administrative Division is seeking an individual for our Admin Assistant 2 to provide division support. The qualified candidate will have knowledge and experience in providing administrative support and scheduling meetings and travel, interacting with the public in a professional manner, and excellent attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have UNM P-Card, Chrome River, and Lobo Mart experience. Strong computer skills in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and Access are desired.

Primary duties will include:

  • administrative support to the division staff, including the Administrative Operations director and Unit Administrator;
  • coordination for the Medicaid Match time study reporting to meet the quarterly deadlines;
  • maintain the CDD inventory records for all computers and equipment;
  • schedule meetings, take minutes, make travel arrangements and process reimbursements, provide support desk coverage including answering the phone and supporting vehicle checkout and return, and utilize a P-Card to order supplies specific to the division;
  • interact and respond to inquiries from staff and patients;
  • assist with special projects as determined by the needs of the administration.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Ability to work on a team of diverse staff, as well as supporting a large Center handling multiple requests and issues.

Familiarity with diverse communities including those of individuals with developmental disabilities and families in need.
