Position Summary

The Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico is looking for a flexible, detail-oriented, customer-focused individual to join our growing Business Operations Admin team as an Administrative Assistant 2. Reporting directly to our Operations Manager, the Administrative Assistant 2 will work with an elite group of administrative professionals to provide support to Anderson faculty and staff.

The successful candidate will have a passion for providing outstanding customer service, a keen eye for details, and a desire and ability to learn.

Specific duties will include:

  • Purchasing activities for the college, working in a queue system to self-assign tasks as trained;
  • Enter time for bi-weekly employees and record leave for monthly employees as primary timekeeper;
  • Schedule and coordinate departmental meetings and track on appropriate college calendars;
  • Assist with coordination of faculty recruitment visits;
  • Monitor supply levels in the college workroom and make recommendations for replenishments;
  • Assist with travel arrangements;
  • Assist with administrative activities associated with events hosted and sponsored by Anderson;
  • Cross-train with other Business Operations-Admin team members to provide coverage when/where needed.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Demonstrated experience successfully working with a team to accomplish project and team goals
  • Ability to balance strong attention to detail with timeline sensitive work
  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing
  • Strong organizational skills and methodologies for tracking projects and status
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of individuals at different levels in the organization
  • Previous experience utilizing a purchase card and/or other business purchasing experience
