Position Summary

The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

CDD Administration is seeking an experienced individual for our Administrative Assistant 2 to support divisional operations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in administrative support, including scheduling meetings and travel, interacting professionally with the public, and demonstrating exceptional attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access is highly desirable as well as experience with P-Card, Chrome River, and LoboMart.

Primary duties of this role include:

  • administrative support to the division staff, including the Administrative Operations Manager and Unit Administrator;
  • schedule meetings, take minutes, make travel arrangements and process reimbursements;
  • provide support desk coverage including answering the phone and supporting vehicle checkout and return;
  • order supplies using a p-card;
  • assist with mail and package processing for the center, with the ability to lift an average of 25 pounds;
  • scheduling and delivering vehicles for regular maintenance and cleanings, maintaining a NM Drivers License required;
  • communicate with and respond to inquiries from staff, guests, and patients in a professional and timely manner;
  • assist with other duties and projects as determined by the needs of the administration.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communications skills, as evidenced through the interview process.

Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team and provide support to a large Center managing multiple requests and complex issues.

Experience handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Familiarity with diverse communities, including individuals with developmental disabilities and families in need.

Additional RequirementsThe ability to lift an average of 25 pounds as part of the package in-take process. Maintain an active New Mexico driver's license.
