Position SummaryThe University of New Mexico Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine is seeking a
motivated, self-directed candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our team as an Administrative Assistant 2. The individual selected for this position will provide administrative support for our dynamic residency and fellowship programs. This is a great administrative position at the University of New Mexico for the right person who is looking to gain experience and work in a team environment.

We are looking for someone who has extensive computer experience and can utilize a variety of software applications. The ideal candidate for this position demonstrates attention to detail, follows instructions carefully, works well independently and takes pride in the quality of their work. This individual will interact with a variety of medical professionals and other administrative support personnel.

Duties will include tracking large amounts of data utilizing spreadsheets and several custom residency software applications, processing resident leave requests, completion of monthly resident schedules, sending reminders for a variety of lectures, conferences and meetings, scheduling venues for a variety of meetings and activities, updating information in files, taking meeting minutes and providing assistance for resident and fellow interviews. The selected candidate will expected to have a UNM p-card and the ability to reconcile transactions and submit reports in a timely fashion.

Conditions of Employment
  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience scheduling appointments and managing meetings utilizing electronic calendaring software

Tracking workflow utilizing spreadsheets

Event planning experience

Bookkeeping/Banner/other fiscal administrative experience involving tracking of expenditures

Solid written communication skills as evidenced by requested cover letter.
