Position Summary

The Emerging Infection Program in the Health Sciences Center is seeking an organized and detail oriented Part-Time Administrative Assistant 2 to join our dynamic and highly collaborative team. This position will provide day-to-day administrative support to the main EIP office. The selected candidate will report to the Manager of Administrative Operations, but will serve all the programs within EIP.

Primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • Administrative support for EIP staff
  • Scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, and ordering supplies using a P-Card
  • Managing multiple projects with excellent attention to detail
  • Interacting and responding to inquiries from staff, community partners and the public in a professional manner
  • Time entry and exception time tracking
  • Assisting with projects as determined by the needs of the administration

  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment
  • Current P-Card holder and experience with Banner, Chrome River and Lobo Mart.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience providing and overseeing support activities for the unit such as answering telephones, assisting and resolving problems and inquiries of visitors
  • Experience maintaining calendars; schedules, coordinating meetings, facilities usage, events, and travel arrangements.
  • Ability to work on a team of diverse staff, as well as supporting a large Center handling multiple requests and issues.
  • Detailed oriented with strong organizational skills, and a positive helpful attitude.
