Weare seeking a full-time Admin Assistant 2 to work with the Departmentof Linguistics, Signed Language Interpreting Program. Under direct supervisionof the program director, the Admin Assistant 2 will:

· work with the director to prioritize workduties.
· work with the director to review and maintainprogram policies, procedures, purchasing, and records.
· assist the director in creating an engaging,deaf-friendly office and program environment.
· complete additional duties andresponsibilities according to requests from the director.

Depending on the candidate’s background additional duties mayinclude:
· providing signed language interpreting and transliterating for theprogram director and deaf faculty.
· interpreting program assignments such asmeetings with faculty and university and community constituencies.

  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

1) Ability to communicate effectively in American Sign Language andEnglish
2) Experience with purchasing and ordering
3) Experience assisting with developing policies and procedures
4) Experience handling confidential records andinformation
5) Knowledge of budget preparation procedures
6) Proficient in computer operations including Outlook, Microsoft suite, experience with MAC computers a plus
7) Excellent interpersonal, customersatisfaction, and conflict resolution skills.
