Position Summary

The Center for Development and Disability (CDD) Family and Community Partnerships Division, is seeking to hire an Administrative Assistant 2 to work within its Administrative Operations Team. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and work experience reflecting successful customer service related administrative employment. Those with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; particularly Word and Excel, and who have bookkeeping or other prior fiscal management experience, such as government purchasing, are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience providing event and/or travel planning services to professionals will be a definite plus. Due to the constituency we serve, the ability to interact with a diverse cross-section of individuals calmly and professionally and articulate ideas in a kind, clear and understandable manner is critical.

The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

Assignment Details:

Days & Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.

Anticipated Start Date: 11/25/19

Projected End Date: 5/24/20

Parking Arrangements: Responsibility of the selected employee

  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with

  • customer service related jobs requiring strong interpersonal skills
  • corporate or government purchasing
  • event and travel planning and scheduling
  • bookkeeping or other fiscal administrative experience involving tracking of expenditures

Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Proficiency with MS Office; particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.

Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

Sufficient data entry or similar experience to suggest strong attention to detail.
