Position SummaryUNMTemps, the University of New Mexico's internal temporary staffing department, seeks a temporary Admin Assistant 2 to join the UNM School of Law Program.This is a potential temp-to-regular opportunity, subject to the selected candidate’s performance throughout the temporary assignment, in addition to the business needs of the hiring department.

The UNM School of Law Clinical Law Program is looking for a highly dependable Administrative Assistant 2 with strong communication skills. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for front reception activities. This position will interact with a diverse community, answering the main telephone lines, greeting clients and visitors. This position works collaboratively with other staff to provide administrative support to Clinic faculty and law students. We are looking for someone with outstanding communication and intrapersonal skills, who demonstrates attention to detail, follows instructions carefully, and takes pride in the quality of their work. Ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish languages is a plus.

The Clinical Law Program faculty train law students in basic lawyering skills through the representation of low-income clients and community outreach.

Assignment Details:
  • Days & Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
  • Anticipated Start Date: 11/26/2018
  • Projected End Date: 11/25/2019
  • Parking Arrangements: Responsibility of the selected employee

Conditions of Employment
  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Proficient in computer applications including Outlook and Microsoft Office
  • Experience handling confidential information
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and processes
  • Ability to speak, read and write English and Spanish languages
