Position Summary

The Department of Family and Community Medicine seeks an Admin Assistant 3 to assist with the Physician Assistant Program and it's Administrative functions.

The Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) has been an independent department at the UNM School of Medicine since April 1, 1967. Under the leadership of Dr. David Rakel, Chair, the Department is an enthusiastic and dynamic environment where faculty, staff and students are engaged in academic scholarship, collaboration and providing effective healthcare and programs for rural and urban New Mexico. This position provides Administrative/Operations support of the Program Director, all other faculty, staff and students in the program. Assists Program Director with schedule management and correspondence. Coordinates events, bi-annual faculty and staff retreats, meetings and special projects; create statistical and ad hoc reports; assist with program development; develop processes for the operations of the PA Office; provides information and assistance to students of the program; manage front desk and act as liaison for visitors to program. Reviews financial reports and budgets and assists with budget preparation and planning for the program. Also responsible for room scheduling and calendar maintenance for two PA cohorts. And coordinates and manages didactic online course evaluations with faculty.

  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with travel arrangements and reimbursements and ability to obtain/maintain a p-card

  • Ability and desire to work with a diverse team of people

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills
