Position SummaryFM Main Custodial is seeking a motivated individual for a full- time Administrative Assistant 3 position to provide support for the department. This individual will serve as an administrative support for the department’s management team and the department staff. This role will work to compile reports for meetings, assist in project planning for the department, act as a contact person for the department and assist with staff searches for vacant positions. Additionally, this role will provide administrative support for the department, such as answering phones, assisting visitors and resolving and/ or referring a range of administrative problems and inquires. This individual will need to possess and excellent ability to communicate effectively over the phone, in person, and through written correspondence. This position requires an individual that has a strong attention to detail, is a self-starter, and can work effectively as a member of a team and as an individual. An ability to set and manage priorities, adapt to change and last-minute work assignments is essential.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  2. Experience in Excel reporting, PowerPoint creation, formatting/ editing documents in Word and Excel, Adobe and the Microsoft suite.
  3. Proficiency in using Outlook and managing multiple calendars.
  4. Experience with P-card transactions and Chrome River.
  5. Understanding of UNM Policies and Procedures related to purchasing.
