Position Summary

TheDepartment of Emergency Medicine is looking to hire a motivated professional toserve as an Administrative Assistant III. This is a high-energy position thatrequires customer service, assertiveness, patience, excellent oral and writtencommunications, and superb organizational skills. This position requiressomeone able to be responsive to multiple internal and external stakeholdersunder tight deadlines and requires resourcefulness, follow-through andflexibility. The desired candidate is customer service-focused; efficient; andable to prioritize and manage multiple, complex tasks simultaneously.

Theindividual will perform a variety of office support and/or administrativeduties for the department that provide support to clinical faculty. Working as anintegral part of a solid administrative team is key.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite and internet)
  • Proven ability to work with frequent interruptions and distraction in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines
  • Attention to detail, as well as experience maintaining confidentiality and HIPPA training
  • Familiarity, and working experience, with:
  • Chrome River systems, booking travel, and with UNM’s travel policies and procedures. Purchasing for UNM
  • P-card, LoboMart, and purchase requisitions.
