Position Summary

The mission of the Department of Family and Community Medicine (FCM) is to improve the health and healthcare of the people of New Mexico and their communities through education, research, patient care, service, population health interventions and health policy development.

DFCM, Maternal Child and Reproductive Health Program seeks an Admin Assistant 3 to support the Program Specialist and MCH Faculty and learners. Support for the Program includes:

  • Managing scheduling and calendars
  • Arranging and reimbursing travel
  • Purchasing and p-card transactions and reconciliation
  • Researching and editing articles using EndNote software
  • Assisting with resident and medical students scheduling
  • Assisting with setting up trainings, workshops & interviews
  • Assisting with IRB approved studies
  • Tracking and reporting data
  • Use of PowerChart for research purposes

This program provides a full-range of reproductive health care services and conducts research and education on reproductive health.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications:

  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat for editing.
  • Experience with Chrome River
  • Current or previous P-Card holder
  • Experience with electronic calendaring and doodle polling
  • Knowledge of EndNote software used for referencing articles
  • Knowledge of Cerner PowerChart
Additional RequirementsThe ideal candidate will be able to lift up to 25 lbs due to the occasional need to carry boxes.
