Position Summary

The University of New Mexico Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) is seeking applicants for an Administrative Assistant 3 to directly support our Medical Director and Director of Counseling Services. The Administrative Assistant position consists of the ability to perform and/or oversee a variety of associated administrative tasks, including responding to emails, creating correspondence, managing/organizing schedules, taking minutes at select meetings, and other duties as noted below and in the job description for this position.

Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) is acomprehensive health service available to all currently enrolled UNM students.SHAC is located North of Johnson Center and across from the Student UnionBuilding. It is open Monday through Friday and is closed on all UNM holidays.Services include medical appointments (scheduled and same day), pharmacy,women's and men's health, allergy and immunization, medical specialty clinics,physical therapy, lab and x-ray, travel health clinic and counseling services,as well as health education, prevention, and promotion.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following experience and skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of professionals.
  • MS Office programs experience including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of office management principles and procedures.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Solid organizational and coordination skills.
