Position Summary

UNM-Taos invites applicants for a full time, benefits eligible, Administrative Assistant 3. The Administrative Assistant 3 position will be responsible for providing administrative support to the organizational unit, to include the Student Services Department, Business Office and TRIO Support Services. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to; performing a range of diverse administrative activities for the organizational unit, serves as a central point liaison with other department and external constituencies in the resolution of a variety of day-to-day issues concerning the unit. Assist the departments with fiscal administration to include purchasing, travel, cash management, and purchasing. Oversees supAll Jobsport activities for the unit to include answering phones, resolving problems and inquires of visitors, review and control of outgoing correspondence and follow up on operational commitments. Oversees support for lobo ID processing, document scanning, inventory for the department, and the supervision of work study employees.

  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred QualificationsPreferred Qualifications
  • Experience coordinating day-to-day activities for an organizational unit

  • Experience working with budgets, travel, cash management and purchasing.

  • Experience in higher education environments, particularly experiences in customer service.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer programs, inventory and calendar management.

  • Experience working with in a multi-faceted, fast-paced, work environment.

  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Interpersonal skills to include: ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with colleagues, professionalism, and dependability.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

  • Supervisory experience
