Position Summary

The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

This position will perform executive level administrative support for the CDD Executive Director and leadership team in the CDD Administrative Division.

The qualified candidate will have experience providing high level administrative support, excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate expertise in managing ongoing projects. The ideal candidate will have UNM or university level P-Card, Chrome River, LoboMart, and Banner experience. Advanced computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher will be needed.

Primary duties will include:

  • Provide high level administrative support to include serving as the primary point of contact for the Executive Director;
  • Manage phone communications, calendars, mail and correspondence;
  • Meeting coordination between UNM HSC and UNMMG leadership, federal/state agencies, and the CDD leadership team;
  • Provide administrative coordination for faculty searches, license renewals, monthly/quarterly meetings;
  • Track and reconcile Center budget components for executive director;
  • Coordinate and organize planned and ad hoc projects and events;
  • Create and manage memos, letters and other sensitive documents for the Center's leadership team;
  • Develop presentations and other graphic materials;
  • Establish and maintain record systems, arrange travel, process reimbursements, and utilize a P-Card specific to the CDD Administration division.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced computer skills with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.

  • Excellent attention to detail, strong organization skills, and able to prioritize complex tasks.
  • Ability to anticipate needs and follow through on projects.
  • Background in working with confidential material.
