Position SummaryThe Departmentof Emergency Medicine, EMS Academy is very excited to announce that we arehiring an Assistant to the EMS Academy Director.

This positionis key to the success of the Academy and requires an individual with theability to operate at a high level of function and effectiveness. The main roleof this position is dedicated to supporting the EMS Academy Director. This isan on-site job and requires knowledge of office management principles andprocedures as well as skill in organizing resources and establishingpriorities. In assisting the Director, this position will utilize experience,knowledge, and initiative to assure efficient office operation. Requires, andthis is vital, the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and inwriting. This position will be located at the front desk entrance of the EMSAcademy and will greet students and guests upon arrival as well as route phonecalls to the appropriate personnel. This role will also monitor, reconcile andassist with fiscal administration which requires general knowledge of purchasingand the ability to think critically.

Also requiredis an ability to direct and manage multiple priorities, effectively analyze arange of educational and work-related situations, and make sound decisionsusing effective time management skills, good business acumen, and balancedadministrative judgment, to the benefit of the University.

This role maysupervise the work of and train lower graded administrative staff and studentemployees as needed and as appropriate which requires ability to lead andtrain.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to operate at a high level of function and effectiveness.
Evidence of knowledge of office management principles and procedures.
Exhibit ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to obtain a UNM Pcard and evince general knowledge of purchasing and ability to think critically.
Show knowledge of EMS and EMS Systems.
Demonstrate ability to analyze situations as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Evince ability to make sound decisions using effective time management skills, good business acumen, and balanced administrative judgment.
Illustrate ability to lead and train others.
