Position Summary

We are seeking an Administrative Officer to oversee and administer the day-to-day activities and manage and execute administrative, project, and executive support activities of the College of University Libraries and Learning Sciences (CULLS), which is a Level 3 core division of the University. The incumbent will foster connections between the people within the Office and across the College. Specific activities encompass oversight of the Office of the Dean, guiding administrative procedures and documentation, assisting with project management, organizing and facilitating events, and assisting with personnel processing. Supervises one staff and two students. The Administrative Officer reports directly to Associate Dean who is the designated executive officer for CULLS.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified, of which at least 2 should be directly related to managing at least one of the functional areas of fiscal services, administration and/or human resources.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Skills in the use of database management, word processing, spreadsheet, and/or presentation software.
  • Organizing and coordinating skills.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Knowledge of human resources administration principles and practices.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of administrative policies and procedures as applied to public academic institutions.
