Position Summary | The Division of Cardiology, within the Department of Internal Medicine, under the direction of the Cardiology Faculty, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant provider for the outpatient clinic. The individual will closely interface with other specialty services managing patients in the Cardiology Clinic under the supervision of the Clinic Medical Director. The individual will have direct involvement with specialty cardiology patient care including his/her own clinic panel. This will include patient calls, callbacks, clinic appointment requests, coordinating scheduling, ordering labs, follow-up of labs, and other diagnostic tests. The individual will ensure adherence to established policies and procedures, regulation, and standards. The individual will provide direct patient care, evaluation, consultations, and coordinate services with other patient care providers. The Department of Internal Medicine is a large, progressive department with a diverse staff working in dedicated teams to provide quality work in an organized, effective, and efficient manner through innovation, training, and education. Through our collaborative work effort, we support the faculty and enhance the missions of the department, school, Health Sciences Center, and University. |

Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor's degree; no previous experience required.Certification/LicensureEligible for New Mexico certification as a Physician's AssistantORState of New Mexico Certified Nurse Practitioner or certification pending, as documented by temporary certificate. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
