The Maternal Child Health program for the Department of Family and Community Medicine seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to work with our Maternal and Child Health Services. Responsibilities and duties include post-partum rounds and care of mothers and babies in Milagro and FOCUS clinics, outpatient settings and inpatient such as ICN3, NBN and Mother and Baby Unit. Provide evaluations of infants less than one week of age in a newborn clinic, caring for infants with neonatal abstinence syndrome and Lactation support. This individual will participate with educational activities for residents and medical students on MCH team including orientation of new interns and medical students. Precepting residents and medical students in outpatient and inpatient settings. This clinician will also retrieve and collect data on MCH activities as a part of our continuity quality improvement and patient safety efforts. The position is a 40 hour per week and will include two afternoons of outpatient care with the Milagro /Focus clinics at the Family Practice Center.

Bachelor's degree; no previous experience required.Certification/LicensureEligible for New Mexico certification as a Physician's AssistantORState of New Mexico Certified Nurse Practitioner or certification pending, as documented by temporary certificate.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
