The Department of Cell Biology and Physiology at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine (http://cbp.unm.edu/index.html) is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor to build and sustain an active research program in cancer biology with special emphasis on angiogenesis, oxidative stress, inflammation, cell metabolism or tumorigenesis, and a strong interest in basic biomedical research. Departmental research programs focus on cancer genetics and signaling, cardiovascular and renal disease, and neurodegeneration, and synergize with UNM Health Sciences Center signature programs (https://hsc.unm.edu/research/research-centers/signature-researchprograms/
The successful candidate will benefit from the exceptional opportunities for synergism and interactions with the UNM HSC signature programs, members of the four basic science departments, and the NIH NCI-designated UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center (http://cancer.unm.edu/).
Appointment will be in the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology, at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful applicant will develop a rigorous and independent research program and participate in departmental activities including graduate and medical school teaching.
