Position Summary


The UNMDepartment of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is eager to put togetherthe right package for an individual with a passion for child and adolescentpsychiatry and teaching, coupled with an interest in joining a team oftalented, caring and committed faculty members.  Applications are beingaccepted for an academic faculty psychiatrist, suitable for appointment at therank of Assistant Professor Clinician Educator for a position in our Child andAdolescent Psychiatry Division.  The successful candidate can take fulladvantage of opportunities available in our vibrant and active academiccommunity.

As an attendingpsychiatrist in our Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division, theperson(s) selected will have a voice in developing the division’s direction aswell as opportunities for multicultural clinical care and scholarly andcollaborative research activities across the Health Sciences Center campus. There are many opportunities for professional development in leadership,administration, and education, including mentoring and supervision of medicalstudents, residents, fellows, and trainees in related disciplines.

Salary andacademic rank are commensurate with experience and academic background.

 

Qualifications

MinimumQualifications: 

  • Medical Doctor (or equivalent) degree;
  • Board certified or board eligible inChild and Adolescent Psychiatry;
  • Clinical experience – minimum 1 year;
  • Eligible for licensure in the State ofNew Mexico;
  • Must be eligible to work in the UnitedStates.

PreferredQualifications: 

  • Educational, teaching and supervisionexperience with residents, fellows and medical students.
  • A demonstrated commitment to cultivate anunderstanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the successof the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
