Position Summary | University of New Mexico Department of Civil, Construction & Environmental Engineering Multiple Assistant Professor Positions
The Department of Civil, Construction & Environmental Engineering (CCEE) at the University of New Mexico (UNM) invites applications for multiple tenure-track Assistant Professor positions to join our growing department starting Fall 2020.
The CCEE Department has a vision for unprecedented growth in research and education over the next 10 years that includes an aggressive search and hire of the future leaders in civil, construction, and environmental engineering. The successful candidates will contribute to the research and teaching mission of the Department, which currently has 16 faculty members, several research professors, 250 undergraduate students, and 85 graduate students. The Department generates $6.5 million in annual research expenditures. The Department is housed in the Centennial Engineering Center, which was built in 2008 and contains state-of-the-art civil engineering laboratories. The Department research centers include the Center for Water and the Environment, the UNM Resilience Institute, and a regional University Transportation Center (UTC). The University of New Mexico also enjoys close collaborations with area research laboratories such as Sandia National Laboratories, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and the Air Force Research Lab.

Qualifications | Minimum Qualifications To qualify, candidates must have a PhD in civil engineering or a field closely related to the above focus areas by the appointment date.
Preferred Qualifications Applicants will be evaluated on these preferred qualifications:
(1) their ability to develop an externally funded research program in one of the focus areas described above and that complements existing Department strengths and leads to collaboration inside and outside the Department
(2) their commitment to undergraduate and graduate education
(3) a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, student success, and working broadly with diverse communities
(4) registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (FE) with plans to pursue PE registration. |
