Position Summary | The Exercise Science (Ex Sci)program at the University of New Mexico (UNM) invites applications for atenure-track assistant professor position to begin in August 2020. Thesuccessful candidate will have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. in ExerciseScience, Exercise Physiology, or closely related field by the starting date ofthe appointment. We are seeking a candidate whose demonstrated research agendaintegrates into and complements the current research of faculty in the ExerciseScience program (physiological responses to exercise, clinical exercisephysiology, body composition, environmental physiology, consumer productevaluation). The successful candidate will beexpected to teach core courses in the undergraduate (BS) and graduate (MS, PhD)programs of Exercise Science, maintain a 2/1 teaching load for the first twoyears, and then resume a full teaching load thereafter. Advising loads will eventually be requiredand include advisement at the graduate level. Other requirements are to conduct and publish data-based research,acquire research grant funding, supervise student research, and provide serviceto the department, college, university, and community. UNM is located in Albuquerque - ametropolitan area of more than 500,000 people - between the beautiful RioGrande River and the picturesque Sandia Mountains. Albuquerque is a unique city with a blend of traditions,people, and cultures. The city hasfantastic local cuisine, a variety of art galleries, sporting events, and easyaccess to a myriad of outdoor recreational opportunities. |

Applicants who are appointed to a UNM faculty position are required to provide an official certification of successful completion of all degree requirements prior to their initial employment with UNM. |
