The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of New Mexico invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the broad field of Geodesy with demonstrated research expertise that complements existing departmental strengths (see eps.unm.edu). The position is a full-time, probationary appointment leading to a tenure decision. We are interested in candidates who use geodetic methods to study solid Earth, environmental, and/or planetary systems.
Thesuccessful candidate will be expected to develop a competitive program ofextramurally funded research, supervise and support graduate students, andteach at the graduate and undergraduate levels in the Earth and PlanetaryScience and Environmental Science curricula. Minimum qualification is a PhD inthe Geosciences or a related discipline completed by the time of theappointment, targeted for August 2020. Preferred qualifications include:demonstrated publication record in peer-reviewed journals; demonstratedcommitment to establish a vigorous and externally funded research program;evidence of research that complements existing Department strengths; and demonstratedcommitment to excellence in undergraduate- and graduate-level teaching.
