The University of New Mexico Gallup (UNMGallup) is one of four branch community colleges of the University and servesapproximately 2,500 students. Located near the Navajo and Zuni Pueblo Reservations,this campus has one of the largest percentage Native American student body ofany public university campus in the world. UNM Gallup is fully accredited bythe Higher Learning Commission, offering Associate degrees and Career Technicalcertificate programs, adult basic education (ABE and GED), workforce training,and personal enrichment courses. There are approximately 61 part-time and 67full-time faculty members.

The UNM Gallup Branch, Mathematics, Physical& Natural Sciences Division invites applicants to apply for a nine (9)month faculty tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor inMathematics to begin Fall 2020. The successful candidate will provide15 credit hours of classroom instruction in 100 and 200 level mathematics,statistics, and/or mathematics education content courses during the fall andspring semesters. Responsibilities also include developing onlinecourses, maintaining attendance, scholastic, and student records, advising, aswell as posting and maintaining office hours. Additionally, there is expectedparticipation in college committees and division meetings, periodic programassessment, professional development (directly related to teaching field), andshared governance as well as engage in scholarly/research activities.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Mathematics or closely related field from a regionally accredited university or a foreign equivalent is required
  • One to two years of experience teaching both developmental and college level Mathematics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of teaching college level Mathematics courses at a two-year, post-secondary institution
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching online or hybrid mathematics/statistics courses, and computer-based instruction
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
