The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at The University of New Mexico invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in to begin in August 2020. This is a full-time, tenure-track position targeting individuals with broadly defined research interests in materials chemistry. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field by the appointment start date. All application materials must be received by January 1, 2020 for best consideration.

The Chemistry & Chemical Biology Department currently has 20 tenure-track faculty and 7 lecturers and visiting faculty supported by 16 staff members. a) Evidence of outstanding potential to build a nationally recognized and externally funded research program as demonstrated by a strong track record of publications.
b) Potential for interactions with existing research programs at UNM as identified in the research statement.
c) Postdoctoral research experience.
d) Commitment to excellence in teaching chemistry at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, including curriculum development and the use of modern teaching pedagogy.
e) Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success including experience working with broadly diverse communities.
