Assistant Professor of Experimental Art and Technology. Probationary appointment leading to a tenure decision. 1.0 FTE. The new faculty member will teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, advise MFA students, and serve on graduate committees when requested. We are seeking a candidate who is technically proficient with specific interests and practice based in 3D printing and interactive installation.The University of New Mexico is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a city of 600,000 on the Rio Grande at an altitude of 5,312 feet. Albuquerque’s historical pluralism gives the city a fascinating mix in terms of its arts, cuisine, languages, and values. ? M.F.A. in Studio Art with emphasis in New Genres, Electronic Art, New Media or related fields.
? Active exhibition record and new creative work utilizing experimental approaches to technology within the last 3 years.
? One year university-level teaching experience as instructor of record.
? Expertise with fine art applications for digital 3D modeling, scanning, and printing.
? Ability to provide mentorship to graduate students across disciplines.
? Excellent communication skills and an interest in collaboration.
? A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
