Position Summary

The University of New Mexico,College of Education and Human Sciences, Department of Health, Exercise &Sport Sciences, invites applications for a Tenure-TrackAssistant Professor in Health Education, beginning August 2024.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expectedto teach a variety of community health education-level courses in communityhealth education potentially including the areas of Management of Health Promotion Programs; Advanced CommunityHealth Education Research; Community Health Education Program Planning,Development & Evaluation; Measurement & Evaluation in Health Promotion;and Epidemiology; advisemaster’s-level graduate students specializing in community health education; andmeet the needs for service in the department, college, university, andcommunity. The candidate is expected tomaintain an active research agenda.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Community Health Education, Public Health, or closely related field from an accredited institution by start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching college or university-level courses in health education/public health programs or related field.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate/graduate online/F2F courses specifically related to: Management of Health Promotion Programs; Advanced Community Health Education Research; Community Health Education Program Planning, Development & Evaluation; Measurement & Evaluation in Health Promotion; and Epidemiology.
  • Experience with administrative, program coordination, and leadership skills (i.e. Field Experience, Master’s Thesis, etc.).
  • Active involvement in field (i.e. prior related employment, professional organization membership, etc.).
  • Experience in ability to conduct, publish, and present original research in related areas of health education/public health or related field (e.g. peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations).
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, student success, and working with broadly diverse communities.
