The University of New Mexico’s Continuing Education Department Conference Center is seeking a part time Audio Visual Tech to join our team. The AV Tech will be responsible for setting up classrooms, conference rooms and the audio visual equipment such as, computer, microphone and projector that customers need for their classes or events. Your customer service and communication skills will be vital to the success of the team. Job requires evenings, Saturday and Sunday hours.

Have no Experience?? Those with a good work ethic and ability to positively engage new challenges will find that experience can be rapidly acquired. We want those who solve problems on the fly, who can proactively envision potential obstacles, and gauge them prior to arrival. If you personify these qualities, can be relied upon to communicate, and are willing to learn every day, then professional experience is not required.

Conditions of Employment
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; no previous experience required.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong Customer Service skills

· Ability to carry and lift Audio-Visual and classroom equipment and furnishings

· Ability to trouble-shoot technical equipment during live events and classes

· Experience using LCD/Laptop projectors

· Experience using light and sound systems

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

· Ability to work nights and weekends
