Position Summary

The Anderson School of Management (ASM) is hiring for the position of Career Services Manager to oversee programs and initiatives related to career planning, professional development, employer outreach, and expanding career opportunities for current and graduated Anderson students. This position is critical to making advances in job placement for students and alumni, and developing long- term relationships with local, national, and international employers.

As an integral team member at ASM, this position will contribute to alumni engagement efforts by helping foster a community of students, graduates, employers and friends that produces meaningful connections, cultivates relationships, and provides comprehensive career development. To this end, a focus will be placed on building upon best practices in how the School engages alumni in student mentoring opportunities. Additionally, this position will interface closely with the student services team to ensure that synergies between academic advising and career coaching are maintained.

This dynamic individual will be responsible for knowing current industry trends in employment and advancement, and will demonstrate the ability to work with teams as well as a variety of diverse students, faculty, staff, and members of the business community in order to align with the vision and mission of ASM and UNM.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of producing high-quality results, successfully maintaining progress across multiple projects and deadlines, working efficiently with minimal supervision, and adapting to changing priorities. This person will be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing as evidenced by the applicant's cover letter and resume.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with

  • Establishing and maintaining effective reporting/tracking mechanisms for a variety of stakeholders
  • Working directly with student population to develop and coach career skills
  • Developing an effective employer relations program
  • Providing leadership for staff and directing a team under the supervision of a manager
  • Building an internship program, including collaboration with faculty and employers
