Position Summary

Thisposting is currently recruiting applicants for Clinical Teaching Associate(CTA). This is an On-Call position and is not benefits eligible.

A Clinical Teaching Associate (CTA) is an individual who is selected to workwith students who are learning sensitive and invasive exams. This includesteaching, assessing, and providing feedback on pelvic, rectal, breastexamination techniques or urogenital/rectal exams. A CTA will instruct usingtheir own bodies in a supportive manner, using communications skills needed toprovide a comfortable setting.

CTAs are also used in activities during which students/clinicians are learningto operate new equipment that involves sensitive and invasive exams (such as atrans-vaginal ultrasound).

Under direct supervision, assumes the role of a clinical teaching associateduring sensitive or invasive medical examinations. These examinations aredesigned to enable experiential learning and/or assessment of health sciencesstudents' skills. Work is on an on-call basis, as needed.

Basepay is $15 an hour, plus $164 an hour for time spent on an exam table doing aninvasive procedure.

To be a CTA, an individual must be very comfortable with their body, be at ease in small group settings, be able to freely discuss their anatomy and be able to clearly convey information to the student in a sincere and professional manner. In addition, female CTAs must have their uterus, cervix, at least one ovary and at least one breast, and male CTAs must have a least one testicle and no recent rectal surgery.

Reliable access to email is critical for timely response to communications of upcoming CTA activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Less than high school; no previous experience required.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

2. Willing to wear a hospital gown with or without undergarments, as needed for case portrayal.
3. Willing to complete a questionnaire, which includes information about your demographics and medical history to better match you with specific standardized cases.
