|Position Summary||This posting is currently recruiting applicants for Clinical Teaching Associate (CTA). This is an On-Call position and is not benefits eligible.|
A Clinical Teaching Associate (CTA) is an individual who is selected to work with students who are learning sensitive and invasive exams. For men, sensitive invasive exams include genital and rectal examinations; for women, this involves breast and pelvic exams.CTAs are also used in activities during which students/clinicians are learning to operate new equipment that involves sensitive and invasive exams (such as a trans-vaginal ultrasound). Under direct supervision, assumes the role of a clinical teaching associate during sensitive or invasive medical examinations. These examinations are designed to enable experiential learning and/or assessment of health sciences student's skills. Work is on an on-call basis, as needed.
|Conditions of Employment|
Less than high school; no previous experience required.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
|Preferred Qualifications||In order to be a Clinical Teaching Associate (CTA), an individual has to be very comfortable with his/her body, be at ease in small group settings, be able to freely discuss his/her anatomy, and be able to clearly convey information to the student in a sincere and professional manner. In addition, female CTAs must have their uterus, cervix, at least one ovary and a least one breast, and male CTAs must have a least one testicle and no recent rectal surgery. Reliable access to email is critical for timely response to communications of upcoming CTA activities.|

|Pay||$11.00/hr base pay, plus pro-rated hourly rate$164.00/hr for completed exams per hour.|
|ERB Statement||Temporary and on-call employees working an appointment percentage of 26 (.26 FTE) or greater, per quarter, will be eligible to earn retirement service credits and thus are required to make New Mexico Educational Retirement Board (NMERB) contributions.
