Position Summary

The Department of Neurology is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team in the Assistant Professor-Clinician Educator Track to take over the leadership of a comprehensive subspecialty program focused in Multiple Sclerosis. The individual needs to be trained in Neurology with fellowship training in multiple sclerosis. The successful candidate will join other faculty in providing quality patient care in the inpatient and outpatient setting at UNM Hospital.

?Clinical responsibilities include direct patient care in busy clinical settings, ward and consult attending supervision of residents, fellows and medical students and midlevel providers. Academic responsibilities include participation in teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows and research activities of the department. Based on qualifications leadership opportunities may be available.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board certified/board eligible in Neurology
  • Fellowship trained in respective specialty
  • Eligible for licensure in the state of New Mexico
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Must have one year of Internal Medicine training prior to completing a full 3 years Neurology Residency Program

Preferred Requirements

  • Strong clinical skills
  • Strong teaching skills
  • Skills in all aspects of clinical Neurology
  • The strength of training and recommendations will be important considerations
