The Department of Radiology at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is seeking applicants for a full time Interventional Radiologist. The primary areas of responsibility will be in Interventional Radiology. This is a faculty position at the academic rank of Assistant Professor in the Clinician Educator track.
The successful candidate will become a member of the Division of Interventional Radiology and will provide primary procedural, diagnostic and consultative service for interventions performed at multiple locations including our NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The candidate will participate in face-to-face clinical consultations, clinical evaluations, tumor boards and multidisciplinary conferences. All faculty are responsible for teaching and overseeing diagnostic radiology residents, fellows, and medical students. Most daily clinical assignments will involve direct resident supervision. All faculty contribute to resident didactic education and are encouraged to engage in clinical research or other scholarly activities. Research opportunities include diverse and growing translational imaging and image processing facilities and are supported by dedicated research staff.
Successful candidates must be committed to working with broadly diverse student and community populations. The candidate must be ABR IR/DR board certified or board eligible by contract start date. Only candidates who will have completed an Interventional Radiology fellowship by their contract start date will be considered. Optimal candidates will have scholarly experience and interest.
The Department of Radiology provides services for the UNM Hospital which is a 580-bed Level 1 Trauma and Tertiary Care Center; the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center; the 71-bed Sandoval Regional Medical Center; and the 320-bed Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center.
