The UNM Health Sciences Center Chief Information Office is looking for a Cloud/System Administrator to manage, administer and improve an existing on premise Microsoft systems environment and help develop, plan and implement systems and capabilities within Microsoft Azure and O365 cloud environments to support current and future HSC campus-wide systems and services.
Under indirect supervision, the Cloud/System Administrator will provide specialized technical support and oversight for systems and services, with a primary emphasis on deployment and management of cloud hosted resources, specifically within Microsoft Azure and O365. The position will also support general on premise administration of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, server and storage hardware and enterprise applications (including installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting and support). They will provide technical guidance in collaboration with the HSC Systems team that requires advanced knowledge and experience within a predominantly Microsoft ecosystem including Active Directory, Windows Server 2012/2016, Microsoft Hyper-V and Nutanix AHV. The position will also support a number of Linux installations including Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The position requires advanced knowledge and specialized experience in principles and practices of systems analysis and administration. The ability to use independent judgement as necessary for problem analysis and resolution as well as advanced IT project management skills are required. Extensive experience working effectively within an ITIL framework is required. Advanced experience with identity management systems is desirable.
The successful applicant will have exceptional communication skills, specialized expertise in Microsoft server, virtualization and Active Directory technologies developed through extensive experience and formal training, and a clear sense of customer service. A thorough understanding of the values, practices and procedures found in an academic health sciences center and a commitment to mentoring and developing technical staff is desirable.
HSC IT provides primary IT support for the academic (education and research) operations at the Health Sciences Center. The successful applicant will work closely with the other IT departments and will be expected to collaborate with our partners and counterparts in the UNM Health System (clinical operations) in the management of enterprise-wide shared services. This position will participate in the rotation schedule of on-call Systems staff to respond to and address critical system issues outside of regular work hours. All members of the HSC Systems group must demonstrate a commitment to consistently providing responsive, high quality customer service to departments and end users.

Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2012 and 2016) andActive Directory within a complex IT environment. List any applicable professionalcertifications, e.g. MCSE
