Position Summary

The UNM Office of Compliance, Ethics & Equal Opportunity(CEEO) seeks a highly qualified professional for the role of Compliance Coordinator.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer, the ComplianceCoordinator facilitates the university’s compliance program includingparticipation in the compliance risk assessment processes and collaborationwith university departments to appropriately mitigate risks, and guiding universitydepartments to ensure compliance with various federal and state law.

Coordinates investigations into allegations of compliance andethics violations.

Develops, implements, and evaluates compliance activities andinitiatives involving multiple partners across the institution.
Supports EthicsPoint Compliance Reporting system administration.

Oversees the Minors on Campus program.

Assists in all functions and activities of the Office ofCompliance, Ethics & Equal Opportunity (CEEO).

Participates in the review and revision of university policies andprocedures.

Reports on compliance activities as requested.

Conditions of Employment
  • Must obtain certification as a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) within 12 months of date of hire.
  • Must maintain certification status.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of investigation, negotiation, mediation, and complaint resolution process of high level/sensitive claims on behalf of the University.
  • Knowledge and understanding of university institutional policies and procedures and the regulatory environment in which they operate.
  • Strong program coordination and organization skills.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze, summarize, and effectively present data.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with senior administration, faculty, staff, community leaders, governmental bodies, and funding agencies.
  • Sound knowledge of the ethics and compliance profession, theories and systems of internal control, and professional compliance standards.
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Strong data analysisskills.
  • JurisDoctorate
  • ProjectManagement Professional certification or equivalent
  • HigherEducation experience
  • Fiveyears of progressively responsible experience in regulatory, legal, and/orcompliance. Experience dealing with federal and state regulations and assistingin the design of appropriate compliance monitoring procedures to meet thoserequirements. Supervisory and management experience.
  • Compliancecertification (SCCE/HCA) or the ability to obtain certification within twoyears of hire.
