Position Summary

The Department of Teacher Education, Educational Leadership & Policy is seeking a Coordinator, Academics to serve our graduate programs in Elementary Education, Secondary Education and Educational Leadership. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage time, communicate effectively, pay attention to detail and possess superior customer service skills.

Duties include:

  • Works closely with Dept Administrator in the day-to-day academic, administrative, and operational activities of the department.
  • Coordinates the recruitment, intake, and provision of administrative services to students.
  • Assists with scheduling and provides associated support services to faculty and staff.
  • Assists with admissions/application processes, processing graduate student paperwork, track students and their advisors, maintain files and records for graduation.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications* Working experience within UNM or other academic environment
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
* Proficiency with MS Office Programs.
* Experience working with confidential information.
* Ability to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines.
* Strong data analysis skills and experience compiling information to prepare and share reports.
* Proficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail in organizing and maintaining files and records.
* Strong customer service background.
